New to WoS

Just purchased Wars of Succession. Loaded up for the first time and immediately loaded the WoS Grand Campaign (obviously). Saw the map, gawped at the immense scope of the game, couldn't decide where to start - so closed it down again. This game looks huge. Maybe I'll start tomorrow instead; with the...

Re: Newbie questions

I think I get it now. I found some cities on the edges of the map painted my enemy's colour due to their loyalties, but not actually at war with me. I played merchants there, followed by trade posts and I'm seeing an income from it detailed in my reports.

Newbie questions

I'm a late comer to AJE, though I do own other Ageod titles. I'll probably have a few questions to ask in the coming days/weeks. But to start with I am unsure about how some of the regional decisions work. Q. Merchants. This decision is only valid when played on a province you don't own - only enemy...

Re: Steam Release?

Definitely going to pick up this game.

Will wait to see if it appears on Steam.

I used to be anti-Steam, but once I gave in it's just so much easier to have all the games I purchase in one place.

Yep. 1.01 Steam version. I cannot locate an exe file. In fact I cannot locate an exe file for any of my Steam games. I can find the exe files for games installed locally but nothing for Steam. A corrupted file might make a lot of sense actually. I had no issues in running two of the smaller scenarios and no issues in my first grand campaign start, which I abandoned before starting my current game. It is only in my current game that I am experiencing crashes. I want to carry on (albeit hav...

Struggling onward through multiple crashes

Well its 1636 and the glorious Imperial army is being halted not by the enemy, not by the weather, but by the increasing frequency of game crashes - six crashes in less than twenty game turns. :( Also, apart from the crashes/freezes I have a number of occasions when my screen goes black for a few se...

Events sending troops to other theatres

If there should be another future patch could the devs please consider this issue: Playing as Imperial side I had an army sent by event to Poland. The army was a stack of about 1400PWr which was actively laying siege to an enemy region, whilst adjacent the AI Protestants were massing a force for wha...

Hopefully Prague will fall soon and Bohemia will be quelled and forced out of the war. In my Imperial game I have reached the Summer of 1624, and having defeated Bohemia am driving towards the Rhine. Game Over

I have purchased TYW two days ago. My main campaign (Imperial side) lasted three years before I rage quit. My...

I am assuming that there is a lack of AARs for two main reasons: 1. With a new beta patch due and an official one on the horizon at some point, I imagine that some players don't want to start an AAR until they can begin a game that won't be possibly retired prematurely if there are any incompatibili...

Yes please.

Also, what will planes be most useful for? Their combat prowess is really not going to make any impression upon an infantry corps is it? Perhaps they're maybe more a reconaisance tool?

The medal shown in the bottom left corner of every unit icon - does that represent an experienced unit? It brings up questions: How will experience be handled in VGN? Can a brigade that is formed in 1830 still exist in 1930? If brigades can exist for the whole game, does the amount of experience gai...

If the units formed into a division are worth less than 4 CP (command points) penalty will be higher with the division : a division will count for 4 CP whatever you put inside it and a lone leader provides 2 CP. When you put the divison into the corps, the corps commander will provide enough CP to ...

5. Divisions - lots of brigades, low CP (command points) penalty. A division uses 4 CPs no matter how many units are inside. So you cut down on the penalty for large forces. So the leader of an individual stack might not necessarily benefit by forming his stack into a division, but if I then pop th...

Only just dicsovered this VGN game forum. I like what I see so far. Looks like a really interesting concept. I do wonder about the size of the regions though.
