I'm not sure directly including the Polish-Swedish War would be good game design. If Poland will just be yet another Imperial sub-faction, it would allow the Imperials to pool their resources a bit too well, make Poland support the Imperial cause in a way it shouldn't, not directly taking part in t...

Danish entry into the war isn't tied to the fall of Heidelberg, or as far as I know, anything else. In my current Protestant campaign, Denmark entered the war just fine without Heidelberg ever falling. Thanks for clarifying, now that makes more sense. I've given the Swedishg entry more thought and ...

Gabor Bethlen negotiations bug?

Either I've been really unlucky in my catholic playthrough, or the advanced Bethlen negotiations fail to work at all. It says it should have a 20% chance of firing, but I tried it numerous times for some 5 game years and it failed to work.

that about the garrison is weird, will try to solve it. It is not easy to simulate an army going to fight in Poland in other way like this, im opened to new ideas if we can make this better :D Frankly, I think the best answer would be to treat the Polish-Swedish war of 1626-1629 as an integral part...

My own impression is that the game is easy for the catholics. By 1630 I've conquered all cities on the map (save neutral France and Saxony), defeated all swedish armies and find myself just clicking "end turn". There was an english I believe force (Under Hamilton) that landed in Pomerania at Kolberg...

The Croats provided superb light cavalry. Schooled by harsh border raiding with the Turks, they were renowned for their skill in scouting, skirmishing and raiding. Some old histories compare the Croats to the Native American horse cultures. The worst atrocities in the 1631 Sack of Magdeburg are oft...

Issue still occurs, same bug - 1629 and around half of my catholic army has been moved to Gdynia, with Tilly included, effectively preventing me from playing on. I now have a Swedish army going for Prague, with my main force teleported from Brunn to Gdynia. Also, I'm not sure if attrition is suppose...

in which patch are you? because renaming works with latest public beta patch. Most recent steam update. Perhaps I need to apply for the beta then? Or is this not available with steam yet? Renaming units would help somewhat with managing "lost in the vastess of the map and hordes of stacks" issues, ...

Was looking forward to this AAR, but sadly I'm gonna cut this one very short. I've played up till late May 1862 and even made a few more letters ready, but then decided to cancel this now rather than investing myself in this and being forced to cancel it after more posts. What started to annoy me at...

Letter II Edwin N.Cole to General Erasmus Keyes Washington, December 25th 1861 (...) I am certain your reassignment to Steubenville will offer you new opportunities and will perhaps be a springboard for your career. Cleveland must be recaptured soon, more for the benefit of the public image and the...

"The progress of our arms" - Unionist AAR

Hello, this is my first time playing this game, recently got it as a present from a dear friend of mine through steam. INTRO NOTES: The AAR will start "in medias res" - starting with Christmas 1861 (even though I played from the start). It will hopefully be presented as in-character letters (or exce...

I would certainly agree that France was in fact rotten from the top down. The fact that France lost the 1940 campaign in the North did not necessarily mean that France had to sue for peace. The French armies could have fought for several more months retreating step-by-step south and then in the wors...

The engine will regenerate them with your modifications.

Do not hesitate to ask if you need something.

Thanks for teh speedy and very helpfull reply :D I bought Birth of Rome and really enjoying it, but thought it could use more scenarios. Thus I decided to see if I'm able to write my own scenario based on the Roman-Seleucid war of 191 BC. So far it seems I'm doing good, though still need to get a gr...

Subfaction unit colors

I wanted to ask how to acheive the different background colors for separate subfactions. I tried editing the subfaction files in the includes folder, as well as designate units specific to that subfaction in the script file. Despite my efforts, the subfaction units remain with a color background of ...
