Agree with the previous three posts, no place for apologists here or anywhere. Players like me, who loiter in the background, rarely post or complain and have not purchased the game, are waiting deliberately to see what the first patch brings and to gauge forum comments GOOD and BAD such that I can ...

Thank you CFF, yes you really helped me.

Another question: how can I change the music, current music is so awful that I switched it off...but I have plenty of .wav files as alternative music. How can I mod the music?

Thanks

Well I think the "create army" special order is labelled "create HQ" in game, which was rather confusing. Anyway it's done now, so thank you for taking the time to reply. I had some further questions in my first Western Entente play-through however: 1. How many armies can I attach to a GHQ (is the m...

New player questions

Hello, I'm new to the game and I'm trying to create an Army. Per the manual I select a 2 or 3 star general and accompanying units (the B.E.F.), in range of GHQ (e.g. "British Army"), and select the "create army" special order. However, when I do this I can see no such special order type in the menu....

Unfortunately that does not work, it does not remember my changes and defaults back to the windows screen resolution. No matter, I'll change it that way.

Thanks again Carnium.

screen resolution

Hi there,
I'm new to AGEOD games and these forums and I just started playing WIA!
My problem is the font size is way too small in-game. Is there any way I can change the resolution in-game? If yes, how?

Like the great man whose name I have borrowed, I'm OLD.
Thanks.

You might want to read over the AAR I wrote with Narwhal. It was the first time I'd played WiA and the first time I'd played PBEM so from my point of view its a comedy of errors (in which a lot of things get burnt down). Narwhal's side is a master class and it also contains a lot of posts that expl...

Thanks again for your help Carnium, it was indeed 1.01b (in the bottom right hand corner of the screen before the main menu screen).

Thanks, excellent review.
p.s. I agree with you about the music; shocking. That is one thing Paradox games do well, otherwise they are a little to sandbox unless heavily modded.

Version & patching

Hi there, I'm new to AGEOD and new to this forum, so please forgive any irritating questions. I just purchased WiA (from the AGEOD shop) and my initial question is about version and patching. So, I think my version is 2.1.01b - does this ring true? How do I identify the version number? Do I need a p...

Soulstrider, I watched an interesting you tube gameplay (by James Allen) of AJE and i must admit the guy made it look a lot more straight forward! There is also that Charles Cummings series which looked very detailed (and helpful). But I guess I wanted the community to guide me since it a) knows bes...

[quote="GlobalExplorer"]I concur with the recommendation. WiA should be the best game to start, some rules are simplified, while it's still an AGE game at the core, deep and fun at the same time. Incidentally I wrote a primer to getting started, specifically for WiA. Hi GlobalExplorer, tha...

Thanks guys for the advice. So the game you recommend is Birth of America II : Wars in America 1750-1815 ? Correct? Can I get it from Steam?
Thanks again.

New to AGEOD - which game?

Hi there, I'm new to AGEOD games and this forum. I am looking for some advice about which game to start off with. Ideally I want to play NCP but I think I should learn the game engine etc. from an entry level game or an 'easier' game. Any advice or comments is welcome. My background is mainly Parado...
