Re: 1 maybe 2 turns before critical error

I am playing a solo game. I am following the less than clear instructions that are in the pop-up that tells me the program has a critical error. They tell me to upload the log file located in where I've installed the game and "my saved game file" (no specific file given). The zip of the fi...

Stupid, illogical, potentially fatal retreat flaw

Can someone enlighten me as to the logic behind the retreat rules when a unit loses a battle? I lose a battle as UK at Stanwix and instead of retreating towards their supply, the units always retreat to the wilderness area to the south. Doesn't matter whether my units were in place or marched into t...

Ships will fight when with merchants. I never tried stacking them together! Neat idea. Sort of an exploit, but not sure what we can do to prevent it.... Cohesion still suffers when you do this. I also wouldn't call it an exploit. In the real world, the Brits wouldn't have been protecting the Europe...

Once captured there is no good reason to destroy them unless recapture is imminent. Once captured, there is no good reason NOT to destroy them is my point. The British didn't intend to capture and retain Patriot stores at Concord. The British intended to DESTROY that cache. The Brits conducted nume...

"Naval stores and sugar supplies are not mobile. They are there for you to protect and the enemy to take / destroy and gain victory points from them. Not very important, just a little flavor thing." When the British capture rebel stores/naval supplies, the destroy this unit button says that it costs...

They provide a small amount of supply to a defending force. Very important in siege. But they are located in places I cannot see the Brits wanted to be beseiged. E.g.; Annapolis is not a critical city; Being beseiged in The Heights won't protect Boston from a force moving through the beseiged area,...

Destroying captured stores...

Do the British lose the VP and morale points listed? If so, I see a problem. The Brits certainly would prefer to burn Rebel naval stores, the arsenal in the Heights, etc than to let them fall into rebel hands.

As it now stands, what good are these things?

Naval support in land combat...

From what I recall about the war, the Continentals wanted to retake Newport but wouldn't attempt it without support from the French Navy (support which was denied) - because of the presence of British ships. Can the British Fleet be used in a similar manner? Same goes for New York which was essentia...

More British Arty?

Do the brits ever get the option to build more artillery? I'd like to fortify Newport but it consumes too much of the available artillery.

Promoting leaders

Have latest patch installed. I get notification that a leader is eligible for promotion and have no idea how to promote him. There is nothing that I can find in the manual. From this forum, I have gathered that there is suppose to be some form of a "medal" icon/toggle but for the life of me, I canno...
