- bonus is whatever you may think of. - HARDE makes replenishment less expensive BUT logistically more complicated (need to be in a depot and need to "consume" supply points). Thus the AI does not risk to run out of funds but risks to miss the conditions to replenish its armies, as the programmers d...

Thanks for interest - The core mod by myself remains perfectly up-to-date. Its code is minimalist so it will likely remain up to date for ever... - The Hannibal scenario module by Rominet is a re-balance module. In a way re-balance is never really finished. But it is pretty well complete. Hope it cl...

You got it. BoR is mostly about the 1st Punic War as well as the last wars of unification of Italy Rome fought against the Samnites, the Greeks and the Gauls. ToR is all about Hannibal's war, albeit with various scenarios. ToR is more epic. BoR is more about discovering less well-known conflicts; th...

Hi Seeing a potential extension of the game is very exciting... :) My personal wish list: - a simple tactical layer : something like the battle planner, but adapted to the doctrinal conservatism of antiquity vs innovative commanders shining because of this. What I mean is that most generals should b...

My mod is updated on the original post

Rominet's complementary mod is there, a few posts above, and also linked in my original post for ease of reference.

You can't get lost! ;)

Hi Fransiscus - thanks for the reminder.
In fact the main files modified by HARDE are not impacted by the 1.01 patch (GameRules.opt and GameLogic.opt), so the mod remains valid as is.

Hi I am glad this mod contributed to the enjoyment of fellow players :) On the single player and AI issue, I think the AI can handle it OK as long as the scenario parameters give the AI a rather defensive role with a good logistical system. In the case of the 3rd Samnite war, supply is never far awa...

I have tried to address some of the issues you mention by modifying some values left open to changes by the devs in open files. See the mod thread. Specifically: - battles are more decisive - replacement is harder You may want to have a look. Based on testings, the scenario files need to be changed ...

3 pieces of news: - The mod is compatible with the latest beta patch for HAN. - Thanks to rominet, we understood better the alternative replacement rules. In fact, you need ammunition in addition to supplies. This is now documented in the original post and read me. - Based on testing, I've slightly ...

On distance in combat: My understanding is that each "hour" has all the distance "rounds" -> 1 hour has as many rounds as the distance (which is a deviation from the manual, where hour = round) So the first hour would have as many rounds as the initial distance until melee. Then subsequent hours wou...

After testing I have integrated rominet's scenario module for Hannibal -219 in the OP for easy access, with due credit of course.

Otherwise the mod seems to achieve its goal as it is now. I don't plan any further change for the time being :)

So will Carthage make a last come back or... will you bring victory to Rome in "only" 9 nine years and a quarter of million casualties? Still, I'd like to see Hamilcar. Aha the Return of Hanno Senior was great! The war is now starting to look like a real 1st Punic War, with both sides heavily committed, sending armies after armies to the Sicilian hell... I wonder how the devs came up with such nice stats for this Hanno - probably a balance consideration? Or is it t...

Nice update. Hanno is quite the General but is still losing the war. I don't think the Carthaginians can keep a presence in Sicily in time for Hamilcar to intervene (he is 15 years old by now...) Your fleet being destroyed during the retreat seems to be a direct consequence of the mod. I was suspect...

Hum... why not modding scenarios? But the question is: does the AI know to create depots? If yes, we could add impedimenta to some factions in dire need. Or add them as potential untis for recruitment. If no, we should rather create a minimum level of depots. For this the first task would be to iden...

Basically this is the problem of any mod: scenarios are not balanced by the devs with mods in mind. As the many changes in the mod (not only logistics) affect game balance, pay attention to this before enabling it. Basically the mod overall favors the "defensive side" who fights against invaders fro...

I tried the theory exposed by rominet and I think he is right. In this context I can now make this rule the official replacement rule of the mod, no need for two editions. New version up: 0.3: Alternative replacement rule re-instated, rout is more dangerous, commanders’ statistics are more dec...

OK I see what happens. The sieExtraModifier is applied to what the Manual calls Siege Resolution Value, not to assault resulting from storming a structure. In that case -2 is a very steep figure. I will bring it to -1. However we could reduce supply to cities sieged by land and supplied by port only...

Hi Lynxyonok, nice AAR! The Samnites really put a nice show... From your last map screen, and comparing with historical outcome, I would call this a Samnite minor victory as they seem to have kept Rome in check, denying Roman supremacy in Italy.
