Thanks for posting all this for our reading pleasure. I only have one major question... where the puck is your opponents army?? I have never seen so many battles with the Confeds numerically superior. I am psyching myself up to try to find an opponent for this game as I have not played this MP. Mike

Also, how do I build a depot? I found nowhere in the instructions that actually states how to build one so I did the old tried and true 2 supply wagons in a region. No.
So I tried 3 supply wagons. Still no.

I am playing this for the first time Pbem and am myself traumatized. I have mostly played Rise of Prussia and other such civilized games.
We are in late September '14 and I think my French troops have taken casualties to equal everyone who died in the Seven Years war in 6 weeks or so of 1914.

Okay, I admit I came into this game late. Units movement is way too slow. It takes a cavalry corps, in friendly territory, full supply, clear weather along roads 12 days to move one province? Seriously? I have been to those provinces, it is a 2 or 3 day walk, even if you double it that makes 4-6 day...

Okay, maybe they are in some odd ball file then. I looked through 'diplomacy' and '1914' and um, 'full war' or something like that and there were CP concessions and the Italians being given Austria and not much else.

Durk, they do not happen in this game, thus why I posted.

I did find Romanian concessions for Entente, but they were Eastern Entente, that is why I missed them.
But there do not seem to be Bulgarian concessions or the partitioning of the Ottoman empire events.

Shouldn't the entente players get to recognize war aims as well as the CPs? I swear in WW1 there were more options for this. If I am playing Britain I like using the cards for cavalry recon, screen etc, which works since you have a small army but with France or Russia there are simply not enough cards in the game.

I don't know if you have opponents yet, but I would be willing to play any side. I prefer slight randomization of generals, some combat delay, slight or some congestion delay.
I am an experienced AGEOD player but have not played TEAW against a human so you may get an easy win!

It does not create roads, you would have to play Pride of Nations for that, but just having a higher development does speed your troops and supply.

I use it along roads I think I will use regularly that have 20 development; a couple of develops per province speeds movement and supply flow.

I am trying to be helpful, but I am frustrated. I had zero crashes 1.00/1.01, but since 1.02 I am seeing I think a memory leak that is causing crashes after one or two run turns.

1. No, you cannot combine same name modifiers. You can get the same effect twice if it is from two modifiers with different names. Any light cavalry/gendarme is good for this task. And a high strategic rating general, combat stats don't really matter for this just high strategic.

At the moment I can always run one turn without crash. Then save, exit program and then restart. If I try to run two or three turns in a row I have about a 75% chance of crashing the second turn and 100% the third turn.

Started new game as France jan 1805.
Prussia (as usual) declares war on Wurttemburg on second turn.
I declare war on Prussia on third turn.
Fourth turn one Prussian supply wagon teleported to Paris. Then trundled its way back to Prussia.

No, I like having the decision cards as well; the French at least did require districts to provide X number of horses to the local gendarmes, to replace the horses of the gendarmes that were taken by the French army. I think that fits the card fairly well.

Yea, already did that. All cav have 1 chit per element and 40 horses per element, but the rep chit only costs 20 horses. Same thing with infantry, replusage =1, 150 men per element, but chit only costs 70 men. Maybe the Phillipes are just trying to keep us from building new units, but you are screwe...

Yea Vic, that's the problem I am seeing; a bog-standard dragoon regiment is 40 horses to build, has a replace cost of one chit... which costs 20 horses.

No, I bought the game here or on Matrix. I have win 7 home, X64, and I downloaded 1.02 and the quickfix from the forum. I checked the log and it said I was running '1.02 qf1' which seems correct.

I played France, Jan 1805 till Dec 1805 and had 574 horses in pool, 8 cav replacements built, and had only used the gather horses card one or two times all year.

Also, what about the cost? Why are replacements so much cheaper than an element?
