I'm not sure if this can cause a problem, but I have noticed that some of the probabilities for weather for a particular type of terrain don't always add to 100. For instance, in the Coastal Lowlands file, the November Impassable Mountain adds to 95 and the December Coastal Waters adds to 110. Thes...

I think I understand what's going on... can the river freeze from time to time? If yes, then the fleet would be placed immediately in the nearest available port. This appears to be the case, seems to be working right, I think it may be more noticeable since 1.10, because the mud tweaks were done to...

To this very day there are parts of the south that refer to Sherman as the "Devil".

I`m curious if the next patch will address the unrealistic weather issues in and around the Ohio River areas, and down to the Cumberland River, where you get almost continous snow/freezing weather from about late Oct through March. Many people, including myself, have brought up detailed examples of...

The 1.07 release contains revised weather patterns that hopefully make the game play much better for everyone. However, only the weather patterns have been changed, not the area files. A lot of good ideas and work are in various member posts above. I am in the process of mapping out the areas and re...

Hi Mike, I have noticed in my current turn that where most areas are covered in mud regions with hills seem to be clear. Is this meant to be the case? If not I'll have a closer look. Cheers, Chris Hobbes, Not by design, that is just a roll of the dice, I saw one in the Shenandoah where the mountain...

Jagger, The rivers will behave much better. There is the possibility though.

Mike, the area is Marsh, alabama, just northeast of Sparta. On the early December turn it was frozen as was the Mississippi river banks. Now in late December it is no longer frozen and shows Fair. Same for Mississippi river basin. Perhaps it is fixed. I take it all back. Good job! Yes, Marsh Alabam...

I have to say that it seems that the weather is too severe in winter in far too many regions. We had snow in Texas in May! Now maybe my one game played is not representative of the normal weather so I could be just seeing the extreme end of the random bell curve, but if not, IMO the North American ...

And then there is that same little patch of swamp just north of Mobile and south of Montgomery that stays frozen the entire winter. This would be strange, I havn't seen it. The area you are talking about is the Upland South, I checked weather for swamps in this area. There should be no chance of sn...

Not sure if this would even help the game strategically, I'll just throw it in. The Mississippi River Delta area is quite unique, the Federal blockade squadron was at the head of the 4 passes into the river in 1861 until a surprise attack by the CSS Manassas in October, 1861. The Federals fled and h...

I too was under the impression that the weather was random each time we start a scenario. That is rather a disappointment, especially since it probably is not the historic weather that occured in the specific regions during any specific week. As the other poster (richfed) above pointed out, randomn...

What`s the verdict on Mikes _unoffical_ weather patch upthread ? Is it a useable option in a Campaign Game re-start in anyones opinion? Is Stonewall`s still in progress ? Nothing on that in 3 weeks. IMO, the default Weather routine breaks the Game. Especially in the West. Thanks Black Cat, I still ...
