Re: Russians stuck in Wierzbolow

Many thanks Durk. I've done a little fix myself actually. I tried altering the event so that Wiezbolow control was changed to AUS, but it didn't take for some reason (presumably over-written somehow by the 'Poland cannot be entered' condition). So I changed the spawn area to Rosienne. I know it's no...

Russians stuck in Wierzbolow

I'm playing the 1756-63 campaign as Austria and the Russians have entered the war. However the large force which includes Apraxin, seems stuck in the Wierzbolow region where it spawned. A few turns have passed (it's now 1757 Early Sept) and it's still impossible to move any of the Russian forces fro...

Re: Beginners Questions

I thought it was something like that. Thanks for the confirmation Philippe. I'm enjoying the game! :hat:

Re: Beginners Questions

I realise the original post was made a while ago, but I think I do have an answer (of sorts) to it. I'm just getting into the game myself and I'd spotted this apparent discrepancy in another scenario. In that one, I eventually realised that the Ledger wasn't showing all Strategic Towns. In that inst...

Yes, on the F9 screen there's a skull icon with a tooltip "Sudden Death ON". The manual says that, if a scenario has Sudden Death conditions, these conditions will be listed in the scenario summary along with the number of cities required to trigger Sudden Death. It's that "number of cities" value t...

Thanks for the info on the Cbt Pwr colouring. I'm sorry, but I'm afraid I don't understand your second response. Is the Sudden Death city number simply missing?

Number colours on Cbt. Pwr & Sudden Death

Hi, I'm just getting into this game and really enjoying it so far. Couple of questions though: on the Ledger's Scores & Objectives Screen, why are opponents' Cbt. Pwr figures sometimes in green and sometimes in black (and I think I've even seen red on screenshots)? And, where is the number of cities...

Hmm...thinking about it more, maybe I'm coming round to the idea of not having every branch spelled out. And I agree with KG Erwin's assessment of BOA2.

Notification of that nature in the game would be quite nice, but I'd just like more info overall about key game mechanisms. To be honest, I'm not that bothered about detailed algorithms on supply, combat, etc. I need to know how these things work in a general sense, but not to two decimal places ;-)...

'Missing' game info

Having enjoyed the FIW campaign, I've recently started exploring the AWI one. However, much as I'm becoming a real fan of the AGEOD system, I am rather frustrated by some key game info being not in the manual. By going through posts on this forum made by various helpful people (particularly the bril...

Well, although I didn't complete the campaign (I was impatient to get on to the AWI campaign) I got a fair way. I found that the AI could still pull off some decent manoevres, even with the complication of colonial control. In fact, I didn't notice any deterioration of the AI's skill overall.

I'm about to make my first attempt at the campaign's colonial variant, playing the French. I'll post my impressions of the AI's performance.

I too have just completed my first successful playing of the French & Indian War scenario (colonial variant). It was my fifth attempt and I clinched a Sudden Death victory for the British in November 1761. The previous attempts weren't defeats as such, rather I re-started repeatedly, as I was using ...

Colours in Forces List

Hi, I'm just starting out with the game (enjoying it so far!) but I can't find the answer to one question, despite searching the manual and forum: in the Forces List page of the Ledger, what do the colours denote for each unit entry? I thought at first, that red meant British, white (perhaps) Coloni...
