Re: I'm bored playing this AI.

I think I'm going to have to begrudgingly turn supply rules off. No matter how many resources I give the CSA she just seems to bleed her people away in supply dead zones like West Virginia. And does it ever build depots? It'll be a while until I play again but that is what I'll have to do.

Re: I'm bored playing this AI.

I'm very hesitant to do PBEM on top of it just being a lousy and slow process. Generally for a game like this I find people to be extremely gamey and use a lot of cheap tricks and uber-optimization taking it down to a science. I can envision small raiding parties cutting my faction apart throughout ...

I'm bored playing this AI.

Aside from PBEM, are there any good mods out that help the AI with strategy? I'm getting really bored with the same old crap. The last half-dozen games I played were of no challenge at all really. The CSA AI is obsessed with trying to invade West Virginia. Perhaps I should start playing with attriti...

Multiplayer, Historical Stalinism, and Victory Conditions

I've played a dozen or so full campaigns over the years. I also played the original Civil War as well as the one even before that (I believe it was by the company Interactive Magic). I have three main points 1. The main thing that would improve the game the most is a fully-functioning and fluid mult...

Re: A critical error has occurred.

Thanks,

I fixed it. I figured out you were able to back up a turn when loading a game from the load menu. Great feature, thank goodness.

A critical error has occurred.

I want to apologize first because I am very drunk but I keep getting this error and this was my joy for tonight and now I'm just drinking and no gaming because CWII keeps crashing.... I tried to load a couple prior autosaves but was too drunk and just kept loading the same one. Can someone help me? ...

Re: Civil War III

I apologize because I haven't read most of this but if there was a Civil War III I'd highly appreciate a better way to multiplayer than PBEM. The AI limitations are mind-crippling sometimes and it feels empty to play in many games. The only thing the AI is really good at is snatching up my non-comba...

Re: How do I give Athena a shot of adrenaline mid-game?

I've been over that campaign for a while.... how exactly do I find the line for morale for both teams? I'm currently playing a Union campaign and the CSA morale is already down into the 60s and I'd like to wipe some armies out without ruining my campaign.

Re: How do I give Athena a shot of adrenaline mid-game?

Thanks a lot for the advice. I assumed an event was needed to cheat like that. Yes, I was playing as the CSA that time and was only a few turns from winning (I think it's silly the sudden win/loss in 1864, shouldn't there be an election first?). It gets boring stomping armies when there's such a mor...

Re: How do I give Athena a shot of adrenaline mid-game?

Does this work? https://drive.google.com/open?id=1cRmPUVY5Fs52uomHb2Kd-Bs3-2ZWutHt I'm genuinely bored and looking for more of a challenge with CW 2. My campaign is essentially over. The morale boosts did not trigger. Is there any way to make this game fun again besides playing the awful and slow PB...

Re: How do I give Athena a shot of adrenaline mid-game?

Nobody knows how to do this??? I know I've done it before but that was many years ago.

I'm about to win this Campaign, getting bored.

I've spent a solid hour searching these forums and online about editing events to do something like add morale. I've tried a few things and nothing has worked.

How do I give Athena a shot of adrenaline mid-game?

I'm playing USA in the Grand campaign, CSA Morale is down to 61 ---> I'm not trying to purely win I want to have fun too. I'd like to still have plenty of enemy recruits to fight off and I think the best way to do that is to add an event to increase the CSA morale. I've done this before but this was...

I seem to recall Major Connoly's "Three Years in the Army of the Cumberland" to mention entrenchments quite a few times at least in 1863 as well as rifle pits. Grant and Vicksburg's defenders most certainly entrenched during the siege as well as attempting to dig a massive project to divert the rive...

Right now I'm dealing with a Union AI that is pretty strong in the Far West (I'm still stronger) and has a 6,000 CP force in Washington that's not doing anything at all. I didn't foresee this. But in hindsight, I seem to remember this from the last ACW game after I captured Alexandria, VA. The AI se...

Fort defense makeup. Some other stuff

I just got the game last week. I played the original and it's seeming predecessor from long before from i-magic or whatever it was. I already played a campaign as the U.S., now I'm playing as the C.S.A. I'm a little confused on specific effects of forts. There wasn't much in the manual on them, almo...

Gettysburg 150th

Stupid question maybe. I was a bigger Civil War buff when I was younger but I live about 2 hours from Gettysburg here in Pennsylvania and I was wondering if anybody here particularly knew how ridiculous it'll be this anniversary. I figure that something like the 150th might be unique enough in a way...

That worked. On an unrelated note I feel like I spend a lot of time building up for a series of big battles that never happen. Your biggest battle ever

This is my biggest by many times over and I just have to post it. I'm playing as the CSA in the W/ Kentucky 1861 Campaign and its the Summer of 1864. The North has been pretty timid in the East largely because of some early victories that allowed me to build up a decent army. I noticed that the AI r...
