Re: A Case for Using Only Pea Shooters

Why? The range in a mountain area is not the normal 99, as in all other areas, but rather a tiny 4. Oi, good Sir Arrow. Sadly, due to life kicking me in balls several times, I haven't had the time to touch an ageod game since our last bought... As far as i can recall, other terrian types also have ...

Re: Native Indians regional devisions

This disgusting state in which these RGD are is a pity, they should be fixed or removed. As a man with Lakota blood I was also dissapointed with these RGD's. Though, I wouldn't go as far as you. Instead I get the feeling that the devs had a plan of trying to do something with the tribes but it just...

Re: Civil War III

Do we have any details on what this new ageod engine will be capable of? Same old battle mechanics? Even if they don't change the game mechanics much or if at all, I still might be in the market for CW3 if it came with a bunch of 'quality of life' improvements. Stuff like: a tool to search for units...

I'm not sure of the mechanics off-hand. The only time I've ever really used it is when I thought someone was going to assault a small garrison for the purpose of milking promotions for their commanders.

Re: Cash Flow for Carthage

Trade from the Mare Internum Commercius has a variable income depending on the number of transport ships in the region. 20 or less ships earns 200$, 21 to 50 will earn 300$, 51 or more will earn 500$. I had read elsewhere that it is not possible, in fact, for the Carthaginian player to augment sea ...

Re: Sneak-in Blockade Runner

Sorry for the bad news...

The return on this RGD is a grand total of 8 WS, not 48. The duration of 6 turns is how long it takes to sneak in that 8WS. Like Fox says, it can be counted if the Union takes control of the region.

Counter-Intel RGD

I don't think the Counter-Intel RGD is capable of doing what it is intended to do. It can't actually be used to counter most intel RGD's. The main reason it cannot be used to counter is because the card requires an active intel RGD in play as a target. All but the demonstration decisions are finishe...

Re: My opponent is pissed (and i dont blame him)

Using the cavalry screen and the disinformation RGDs can increase the hide value of all your regular troops by 4. These RGD's cannot be countered when played in hostile territory. I've seen full sized corps escape using that combo of cards. Still, its best to break down the corps into smaller units ...

While a lack of military control causes a force to flip to offensive posture it does not guarantee that a battle will take place. I would guess that your opponent is getting messages about how his force successfully managed to retreat before battle. Perhaps from being overpowered by a decent margin ...

The forces in the capital may unlock if Rome lands an invasion force in the surrounding area. It would be easy to change. Removing or replacing the unforgiving trait would fix it. Did the loyalty loss happen all at once? Might it have happened over time? Farmfields can be destroyed. Like mines, the farmfields on map icon will not be removed but its destruction can be seen in the message log and the region ledger. Capturing those gold mines against Athena is a possibility so I wouldn't be so quick to burn and run. I don't think any cavalry units in CW2 count as 'screeners' (nor disrupters.) That's where I was coming from when I said only a general with the screener trait will work. In other ageod games, cavalry capable of screening maneuvers has the attribute listed in the model file: Attributes = *screener*|...

Nope. The only thing that can reduce damage while retreating is to have a general with the 'screener' trait present. This trait will reduce damage taken by 50%.

Jubilation T Cornpone, what a name and a musical... Nice reference.

Ya, after thinking about it more, I'm pretty sure the first set of 'commit' rolls are a preliminary test to check if a battle should even happen. I'm sure you can recall getting messages about a force retreating before battle in the in-game message box. I gave the theory a test. Trying to get a retr...

Yup, that ASJ Def Bory Att battlelog is a bit weird. You'd think the Army of Mississippi would show up in the commit rolls on later rounds to support Bory's corps. Stranger is how the Army of Mississippi succeeds in retreating twice in two different rounds of the same combat and suffers hits in both...

A little follow up on the 'delayed commitment' option: When two opposing forces meet the chances per day for a battle to start are: -Large = 30 -Medium = 40 -Small = 50 -None = 100 However, those numbers may be misleading. If both opposing forces are in offensive posture then they each get to make t...

I tend to run my scouts in Passive/Passive with evade orders. If I need to gain MC then I might put them in Defensive/Passive. No, I'm fairly certain this is not true. I've simply never read anything ever insinuating that posture is shared. I believe the elements fighting in the battle simply enjoy the modifiers inherited to them by their leaders. This is easy enough to test, it will show in the battle log. It will take me...
