Jesus Christ, GS, you must be some kind of special because it's obvious from my phrasing that I mean to say that the only thing which can be counted to always move supplies to refill sources over land are depots. Weather and terrain always affect movement and this can be clearly seen if you've ever ...

I understand the benefits of g/g, GraniteStater, but it is always more pertinent to bring up the standard rule for the op's benefit, whether he knows this or not, then to give him a shoddy deviation which only applies in special cases. Special cases are just that - special. I'd rather lose 2 cav tha...

An interesting question. I think that by placing the stack on Evade Combat order and placing it on a blue/green stance should give it a chance at either ignoring combat and continuing the mover, or retreating it the first round and hopefully continue on its way past the interdicting force. Regards, ...

I've always been under the impression in my games that you can only draw on supplies at the actual town and that combat units per se do not draw supply away in adjacent regions. What I've always seen them do is resupply from the local stores so that unless they are starving they should be able to me...

Are you CSA or USA? Athena recieves less combat penalties for oversized stacks the more difficult you play. I've playerd her on LT and noticed that she never goes above 20 - 25% penalty. Can't remember the exact number but it sure wasn't 30 and above. This might be what you are seeing. Regards, Laer...

I can confirm that neither the Merrimack or Buchanan exist or spawn despite the message informing the player of the completion of it popping up at the right time. Just another headache for the devs. Also too, there is a region in KY which does not unlock if KY secedes in favour of the CSA. Trapped F...

Remember too that Vicksburg and Richmond had huge logistical support from the navy. Vicksburg was shelled from the river as well as the land to ensure that there was no safe place for the enemy to hide. The idea being, if I'm not mistaken, by Grant that it would be too horrifying to hold onto for lo...

Your opponent must have luck on his side because both Beauregard and Johnston have only a 4 for strategic rating. In my games I find that is enough to guarantee them not being activated for at least a couple months out of the year if not more. Besides, their attack ratings are only 2 so that doesn't...

Pardon me veji1, but what are you talking about? I've had several instances alone where corps attached to the same army are defending in the same region with that army stack and do not immediately come to each others aid. Most times, if the battle lasts long enough, they arrive and slot into the bat...

Now that you mention it, yeah, I've noticed the Texas and New Mexico thing too. I've also notice that sometimes Kentucky has fair weather and Tennessee is hit with blizzards, sleet or muddy conditions in the winter months. Strange.

That fort counting for four ships is very interesting as I didn't know that. Just a reminder though: how in the hell you going to take it except by land, cause there are two forts guarding the mouth of Charleston and each one gets a turn paddling the rear of any amphibious force passing by. And if i...

If you have artillery entrenched up to level 3, then the land bombardment button becomes highlighted and you can activate it. Doing so should prevent any supply from moving through any adjacent river regions. Bear in mind there might be multiple points of supply routes that need to be blocked, but t...

I believe it is the way that supply works. In ACW I and II you are not just blockading economic activity but also the movement of supply as well. What you've done is stop the physical movement of ships to the port so that some other harbour, perhaps in Texas or Alabama, must be used to fix those shi...

Well, I just got told! Perhaps then the default army formed by A.S. Johnston should be the Army of Mississippi instead of Tennessee like it is in the grand campaign. Thanks for the info guys.

West Scenario

I started the campaign starting in the West in '62 and I noticed that the army commanded by A.S. Johnston is the Army of Mississippi and not the Army of Tennessee. Just thought I'd let the developers know so they can put that on their cosmetic list.

No, I started the same scenario before the patches only to discover that corps formation was bugged. Then after the recent patches were released I started this game with both those installed. Thanks for the effort.

Turns Not Processing

I'm playing the grand campaign starting in April '61 and I noticed that the messages have basically been repeating for the last 3 turns now. I am in Feb/Mar '63 and the game doesn't process my orders or the AI's. If you need the files, just tell me what you need and where to find them. I have double...

Well, what about engaging shipping? If batteries can not entrench above level 2 you can not stop shipping or supply from moving on rivers. Building forts is expensive and especially the south can not afford to do it. To a great extent the not being aggressive enough is the product of most commands ...

Has anyone else noticed a radically reduced incidence of CSA promotions and notices of seniority adjustments in 1.17a? In a current pbem into mid '64 the CSA has received a total of 4 promotions in the entire war. A recent battle at Richmond had Lee's army losing 7000 to Hooker's Union losses of 19...

Something About Jackson

I've played through a couple of campaigns already and have browsed through the forums. I must say there is some very enlightening stuff that I would have never have thought to ask, such as the frontage of cannons per division being 4 in a standard battle or how to properly spread out an army and its...
