Like numdydar, I have no issues running on a laptop pc. takes less than a minute to run a turn. I wonder why you get freezes in RoP, also. I think there must be some issues with your settings or what is running in the background. Perhaps. I've just downloaded Alea Jacta Est demo and it works as it ...

That's odd since I have no issue with scrolling at all and my PC is at least 3-4 years old. What are you running in the background and do you have the most update BIOS/drivers/etc. Yeah, all's fine. I run Civilization 5 on max settings and have no problem at all. Even when I run PoN in 1024x768 I s...

So that would be weird to propose a PON gold without at least significant improvements on this aspect. I've bought PoN and I can't play it because of horrible performance and long turns. So I've payed and have no game. I'd prefer to pay once more and get the game which I'd genuinly like to play, it...

I hope for a better interface and optimized engine.

And for the love of god, greenlight should do those games some justice.

Steam is probably partially corrupting your ROP Gold version by trying to put back original files. I suggest you de-install the game install it through Steam copy the Rise of Prussia game from Steam to another place upgrade it to Gold Ah, to hell with that. I just bought upgrade kit though I've nev...

Yeah don't wait for Steam to get the Gold upgrade. I doubt they ever will. Just order the Gold update from AGEOD or Matrix and upgrade your Steam copy of ROP. I did that yesterday and it works fine. I did have to make a copy of my Steam ROP folder and put it in my Matrix games folder and upgraded t...

I've wanted to check if Steam has Gold as DLC but now I can't even find Rise of Prussia page there. I still have it in my library. A pity, I hoped that I'll be able to fully embrace AGEOD strategy games with it.

the rest is learning by drag and drop action. three to four games and you will fall in love to it. I'm not worried about me, I found strength to read the manual and really more concerned about intuitive interface but I understand it's hard to do and many people already used to current one. Steam Greenlight

http://steamcommunity.com/greenlight/ In short, any developer can leave description of a game and anyone can vote for it. Steam then sells games to broad audience using all sorts of services and payment system, allowing fans like me to buy games that aren't available in my region. I think it would ...

I think Tolstoy wouldn't really mind if you use just War & Peace. Or can you copyright that name for other medias? If so I'll go get me some rights for games "Bible", "Carried by the wind" and "Thus Spoke Zarathustra".

Personally, I'm not really that convinced that "more accessible gameplay" will automatically lead to higher sales figures. Perhaps the most famous and best selling Paradox game, Europa Universalis III, is also the most complex and least accessible of their recent titles. At the same, we should not ...

Would it be better to say it was simplified and made more abstract? Because that is what seems to have happened. And I mean no disrespect to anyone, as there is nothing wrong with people who prefer simpler, more abstract, games. I just do not happen to be one of them. Simpler and more accessible in...

Reason is simple: Steam refused them :bonk: I don't know, may be if players / buyers complain to Steam about the absence of the game, they would change their minds... although I seriously doubt it... :) If it was pure business, they would sell AACW which has a 10:1 ratio sales ratio compared to the...

By the way, is there any specific reason why some AGE games are in Steam (PoN, BoA1 and RoP) and some aren't? I'd sure buy more on Steam - it's hard to get those games other ways in my country and also, you know, everybody has Steam and wouldn't like to have yet another delievery system.

I'd like more sandbox-ish game but not as complex as Pride of Nations or other global strategy. Maybe something of Civilization style and AGE battles. Diplomacy, simple economics with province upgrades, simple tech and researched (based on events and trade, not this usual "let's invent wheel" thing)...

I see a big problem here. If you sell fix for a very slow and buggy game plus couple of features as expansion nobody will like you. But those fixes require much work and adding other features will require even more... Maybe updated rerelease?

Victoria 2 is breathtaking in theory. Every person in the world is simulated, he consumes, produces, fights, thinks about specific problems. But in the end you're right about war - it's dull, propably cause the game is all about internal politics and economy. But diplomacy and research is pretty bor...

Well, I guess fans whining about NPC2 being ruined forever by real time are much happier now. But I'm sad. I fear AGEOD will use the same old engine and couldn't evolve, especially after problems with PoN.

Weren't most wars of the period decided by a couple of decisive battles? No i don't think so, in the case of Pompey-Caesar, Caesar had 11 Veterans legions in Gaul at start whereas Pompeys had only 7 Veterans legions in Spain, perhaps 2 in Italy (but formerly Caesar legions) and all the other were recruits elsewhere (Syria, Africa, Greece).
