Oh, peace, nice to see you again, it's been a while. So, as a result of those 5 years of war you have crippled an opponent that wasn't even a real competitor anymore (since Germany has escaped pretty much unscathed from this mess) and stolen the candy factory of the spaniards (Won't somebody think o...

That general, Tulio Masi, is a real monster! 4-7-6! Does he have any special traits? From what I can remember from RUS some traits made even mediocre generals into very competent ones (Yes, I'm looking at you Stalin, damn you to hell Stalin!) That million men army might look intimidating but then yo...

It reminds me of that chinese torture, where you drop a single drop of water every 10 seconds or so on the victim's forehead for hours on end. Who's going to be the next droplet? The Ottomans? Greece? Bulgaria? And yeah for the suicide of Europe! Madness has overtaken every european leader (I'm just...

Damn, just mentioning Bornego's name made me start rereading his Drang RUS AAr. He said this back then: PON could indeed yield similar results. Yet I doubt it would be as much fun. The map is too small to grant much room for maneuver. Moreover PON lacks the division-corps-army structure and marching...

In all my years of AGEOD playing and Aar reading I don't think I have ever seen anything quite like... I'm not sure even Bornego's RUS Aar ever came close to that. Never mind what's written in this one, but I guess the Germans must have nightmarish visions like this right now . img_covpiave-750162.j...

All in all, the Austrian Army has just consolidated (it lost what it had to lose) and the Italian elements may actually break in the next confrontation (as they might be in the verge of abandoning due to low cohesion). Always keep this in mind, especially when in PBEM. ;) But, if Loki is right Aust...

This Wien push was awfully adventurous, at least in hindsight. I guess the Servizi Segreti completely failed at their task, or worse yet, deliberately misguided their comrades! For a second it seemed as if your generals thought they were back to the Napoleonic times and forgot they were fighting an ...

So, you're building what I'm guessing are some communication units (more CP), loads of artillery, some infantry, some wonderfully pretty tankettes, some terrifyingly ominous engineers (gas masks AND flamethrower!) and a mysterious super weapon not even the game dares to show? That battle at Trent wa...

After seeing such a gigantic german stack I have to ask: why do you think Germany (and also Austria) is capable of so vastly outnumbering your armies? After all, you do have what is probably Europe's strongest industry and you've been using a lot of those demography boosting cards. Are they really t...

its a brilliant poster - where did you find it? I love that phrase ' pane dell'Ucraina ', there's a few in Roman dialetto with a similar meaning but usually involving the sex life of the Pope Since it was clearly meant to influence the citizens of Vienna you do sort of think that writing it in Germ...

Even without taking the defeat at Innsbruck into account (which seeing the casualty figures and your manpower recovery isn't very problematic) the early defeat of Russia is quite disastrous. The threat of a two front war has been prevented thanks to a reverse Schlieffen and now Germany can focus all...

Good, we'll finally have the great dreadnought clashes we were promised. :) I might be completely wrong, but I have the feeling that Italy might be stagnating? Well, quite a useless war I suppose, although the polar bear will be a welcomed addition to the Bioparco Zoologico Imperiale in Rome. So Africa is in a state of perpetual war? How very 1984. I'm always a bit leery of starting major wars in order to win games. Once I've got a state up and running the way I like it, I have problems with throwing it to the wolves, even though it's the best way to win the game. Dragging Italy into a ...

Fortunately, for those of you who demand death and disaster, both will return in a substantial propotion(sic) later this year. Yeah, I've been meaning to make this point in a couple of AGEOD AAR's. It seems everyone thinkgs those casualty numbers are all KIA's. Even the Battle of the Somme resulted in 58 000 British casualties (of which one third were killed) in the first day. Austria Hungary suffered 1,100,000 military de...
