The alternate button bug, aye... that did the trick, I switched it off and now I can change the stances for the stack(s) as in defensive, offensive, etc. postures.

Playing the game as well for a couple of days no since I've bought it and there are frequent occurances when losing generals get promoted or congratulated and winning ones being repremanded.

What does the pontoon bridge do for us? Also what is the sequence for building a railroad. I don't see an icon for that. Does it consume units? If so what kind? AFAIK, no option to build RR, and pontoons simply assist in speeding up river crossings... Tip: Don't try it like Burnside in Fredericksbu...

I use very small cavalry brigades and divisions, the mounted volunteers are a great addition in the West. Mounted volunteers + cavalry + horse artillery + Forrest = Southern rock. I always rest and refit the cavalry in a place where they are trained more by an leader or HQ, they should be nurtured ...

I am sure you want to have pure cavalry divisions as well for some jolly good deep reece and raids, aye? I try to buy 1-2 Bde with 1 x Cav and 1 x 6lb Art element in them; The rest the cheaper Inf Bde to make my Div later on.

Scripted reinforcements have greatly changed in the new version. I don't have the list at the moment. If you are ready to dig in the detail of the game data :sherlock: :cthulhu: , you can look at the "csa events.sct" and "usa events.sct" files in CW2\events folder. Search for "CreateGroup" strings....

If you can spare a turn, do not storm it while landing from the ships. It will give your force additional amphibious landing penalty along with the assault the fort penalty. First land into the region with the fort, and storm it the turn after. Casualties shouldn't be too high. Talking about forts....
