This is probably the forum you should have posted in. The latest patch is 1.10d and AFAIK you can apply it on top of any previous version, it contains all changes. You can find the patch in the top thread of that forum. I'm more or less a noob myself, I've had the game for some time but only recent...

Yeah, I've been using offensive stance in the boxes, I thought it would help in beating up the rebs. I'll stop that from now on. :niark: The cannons can upgrade? Had no idea. I'm very sure I'm not confusing my orders, because I did order 4 6-pounders and I didn't get any 6-pounders. The visibility t...

Some tiny questionmarks.

1) I set the difficulty to have less micromanagement in the naval boxes, but as far as I can see my ships there still lose cohesion. Is that feature not working properly, or am I misunderstanding it? 2) When I order lots of stuff at the same time, especially artillery, it seems to me that I sometime...

Its a shame this post has been moved. Admitedly it is primarily an AAR but it is also a sounding board for discussing game concepts which make up nearly 50% of the content. I just hope people will actually get to see it here. Seconded. Could have been worth it to keep it in the general forum just a...

I'm a bit worried by this. My system just barely surpasses the minimum requirements. I hope they will work on optimisation for one of the next few patches.

From what I've seen, yes. You don't need a general though.

It's great to have this AAR to look at. Makes me happy that I'm not the only one struggling here. :cwboy:

Question and a repeated CtD.

1) What does a paper-clip before the name of a save file mean? 2) In the April '61 campaign I've come across a repeated crash to desktop (ctd) bug. It's turn five and I click on end turn, towards the end of the execution phase the CSA move some forces to Tucson to siege it, but fail and I get a mess...

I think when they say disband, it's remove the general they mean.

Industry is permanent. Any increase due to industrialization will be seen as a message the next turn. Something along the lines of 'an armory has been built in Nashville, +5 War Supplies per turn'. If you go to the economics screen and look at the states, you'll see the numbers go up as you industr...

File locked by OS, retry later.

I'm not sure that was the exact wording of the error message I got, but that was the gist of it. I had saved my game under a new name by CTRL+save game, and when I tried to go to the next turn I got that message. I don't know what file the game tries to access, but when I looked at the save folder o...

Great! More! More!

I love the detail in how units are put together. I remember an old ACW game by Empire Interactive where you could put together divisions, corps and armies in a similar fashion, but that game worked so horribly bad that that part unfortunately was the most enjoyable.

I am as excited as someone very excitable who has something very exciting to be excited about.
ACW is an interesting conflict well worth making into decent games, but so far most of the games I've tried have disappointed me. I like BOA but miss the greater strategic scope that AACW promises.
