I wish they would have just given you the ability to play as most everybody, even without specialized events. Just put them on several pages, "second class" nations (Ottomans, Spain), "third class", etc.

My full-time job is teaching, so I get home around 3:00 (7:00-2:30 school day). That and time over the summer is how I can play all of those games. Plus, my wife doesn't come home until 5:00 ;)

Whenever I look at the ledger to study my units, I wonder where the particular province is where they are located. Then I have to hunt them on the map... :dada: Actually, if you click on the unit symbol in the upper right hand corner of the ledger entry, the ledger will close and center on the sele...

A Birth of America review has been posted at Out of Eight PC Game Reviews: http://jaguarusf.blogspot.com/2006/02/birth-of-america-review.html Birth of America is only the second game to receive an 8/8 (the other being Civilization IV) among the 80 or so games I have reviewed. Congratulations!

by word of mouth essentially

And reviews by less-then-reputable gaming sites. Like, say, Monday or Tuesday.

Yes, in the Docs menu after installation. There is actually a PDF manual and three Word documents that list the leaders, structures, and units in the game, complete with pictures!

I did, I would just like to see a more clear indication of the objective cities. It's hard to remember a list of 7 or so cities that are scattered around a map. A clear circle or flag above objectives would work. The strategy filter (I think it's called, I'm not at my home computer right now) shows ...
