I play either side - but if push comes to shove - I'd prefer the odds to be in my favor in the long run so I would choose the Union if playing an opponent I really wanted to beat.
Add my vote to the hope they do devise a method for the scroll bar list to not reset as we drag and drop a unit. Some times I want to build 2 or 3 of a unit (supply wagons for an example) and it is more like work that pleasure to keep scrolling to the end to get to my horse and cart ...
the DNO scenario has a lot more problems than just CPs -
I am for a system that favors the Soviet mass wave feel the current game has. I like the idea of more leaders at the start and easier to generate. Is there a way to have the Soviet side with an extra 1 or 2 CP per star to reflect this?
I am curious if this could be solved by treating a Leader, alone in enemy territory, with the same mechanism that exist for a leader that is wounded. The leader is 'tele-ported' to the closest Friendly Depot or City and locked in place for a couple of turns.
Thank you for the quick reply. My patient opponent and I will probably back up a couple of turns and I will declare war on the Baltics to see if that cures the situation or will I have to declare war on the Ukraine to get the Germans involved? As a solution -- and I am not very skilled at modding bu...
Playing as Reds, delaying war as long as possible while stomping Whites and Greens. I was planning on opening war on the Baltics once the snow melts in 1922. My German opponent jumped the gun and Finland and Baltics declared war on me. Now the problem. I can move into Baltic and Finish territory but...
They were recruited in cities but trained in camps set up for that. How about if the player can set up camps to train them in, instead of cities? Rather like a depot… +1 vote on this. Each state have 1 to start with and then allow the building of one or two additional recruitment/training fac...
Wouldn't this also mean that cavalry raids are no longer possible? And remove a useful feature that people got used to, to correct something else? Yes, it would prevent single unit deep raids. Remember that the new map is going to have more territories which would make blocking those annoying littl...
I think this has been mentioned in other threads/places but would like to add here a few rules to limit leaderless stacks 1. without leaders, no units will be able to All Out Assault or Defend At All Cost (Red Buttons) 2. without leaders, no units may enter territory 51% or more enemy controlled. 3....
That is a very interesting offer. I would not do that for the current game but a tool like that could be useful in a mutually agreed house-rule approach to some of the NM wacks - Like the one in an previous thread where Soviets have declared war on (x) and we still saw 6 month negative for not decla...
Thanks, I will dig around in that. The timing is odd though as I had given the option to Recruit Party Members and Paritial Mobilization - executed the turn, got the game log message that I was doing (x) but the National Morale did not change -- sent the game off in our share/swap mode of PBEM and w...
Well I figured out a couple of points - Partial mobilzied -1 NM and Recruit Party Members -1 NM (and assuming the -5 NM) that still leaves -3 NM ghost charges out there somewhere. I did not lose any battles. Did gain a National Objective (Novorossiysk) due to garrison surrender. There was a large Re...
I am just being a wealth of information... Ok, same game as other threads - I am playing Reds in DNO. Game started (I believe in Patch QF2) and recently added QF3. I am playing the long wait gambit for the Soviets - no declaration of war for the first year to clean up the Southern Whites, Greens and...
I am not sure about the Helper Program but as a general comment I would ask/say to never install any games under the Programs\directories of Win7 and its ilk as they try to protect and control (think for you), making copying files, installing mods and other things more difficult that it should be. I...
Thanks, I did not know that a leader would lose experience for loses. That makes 'experience' actually something else - a rating for effectiveness or some such, but you can easily argue that a general might learn as much or more from a hard fought loss than an easy victory. I hope they review this p...
I believe I installed QF2 along the way -- I have patch_RUS_v1.06a_QF2.exe unpacked from a zip file (dated 29 Jan) I guess I need to clarify. My opponent and I started a DNO scenario back in January with QF1.exe and finished that game and started a second one (swapping sides). Along that way we both...
There are 5 battles of Solnechnodsk in the report log - 4 of them against a leader and a horse artillery unit (listed as 16 men). This is the save game files - do I need to post anything else, thanks This game started with QuickFix1 - and I applied the QuickFix3 patch before e...
I have a series of 4 battles with the same single horse artillery and leader unit (16 men that I killed at least two or three times) and they drained almost 500 of my men. Southern White Zombies ... who would of guessed? Playing as Soviets in DNO scenario. Do I need to post the save game or is this ...
Sorry I am rambling all over the Leader Ratings (suggestions and questionss about the scale) /* suggestion 1 Since a leader can be promoted and also die, I assume you can change some parameters of the Leader stats. I would like to suggest that if you can use a formula to congratulate and blame a gen...
Recently playing RUS - DNO scenario as the German side and was doing fairly well up to this point - I got an updated file late one Friday night from my opponent. My mind had been pondering the forces I was massing toward Smolensk over a few glasses of good Scotch and a cigar. Eagerly I launched the ...
I am a long time lurker in various forums and have seen the occasional redacted post/thread (including Paradox in this case). Hey, all forums and companies need to do a little policing every now and then and can't blame any business for not cutting off their nose to spite their face (any more cliche...
I like the idea of fewer traits to start off with (except for the very exceptional leaders) but would like to see the ability to gain traits (both positive and negative) due to how you use them and how they preform in game.
I still think a 4 player game based in Renaissance Italy would be a great game. Each player take a major exterior power (France, Spain, HRE-Austro/Germany) or would play to unite Italy under 1 flag. The winner would make all the Italian States their puppets and control the Papacy. Creating influence...
